Is there actually coconut oil in it? No. "Coconut Oil Squishy" is just the name of the style — it describes the silky, mouldable feel. The filling is petroleum jelly inside a soft, latex-free rubber skin. It's sealed in and meant to stay that way — never cut or open the squishy, and it shouldn't go anywhere near a mouth.
Can I choose the colour? Nope — and that's part of the fun. Every Squishlotte comes in a random colour from our range of soft, muted shades, so opening the parcel is a little surprise in itself. Charlotte says the not-knowing is the best bit.
What age is it suitable for? Ages 3 and up, with supervision for young children. It's not suitable for under-3s.
Is it safe for kids who put things in their mouths? No. It's not designed to be chewed and can break down into small pieces if bitten. If your child is likely to mouth it, it isn't the right product for them.
Does it help with anxiety or ADHD? Lots of people — kids and adults — find that a quiet fidget helps them focus and settle. That's why sensory tools like this are common in classrooms and therapy rooms. But it's a toy, not a treatment. If you're concerned about anxiety, attention or sensory needs, please talk to a health professional.
How long does it last? That depends entirely on how hard it's loved. Gentle, everyday squeezing and it can last for months — ours has. Squash it, stretch it and pinch it all day and it might only last days. Treat the seam kindly, keep it away from heat and sharp things, and check it regularly. Replace it as soon as you see a hole, tear, leak or the seam opening up.
Should I keep it in the bag? It comes in a clear bag to keep it clean in transit. You'll get much more out of the feel with it out of the bag, so use it freely — just pop it back in the bag when it's travelling in a school bag or handbag.
Is it scented? No. There's no added fragrance — just the faint, neutral smell of a new product that fades after a few days out of the bag. Good news if you or your child are sensitive to scents.
Can I use my NDIS funding? If you're self-managed or plan-managed, yes — see our NDIS & Invoices page for how to order and get an invoice. We're not a registered provider, so we can't take agency-managed orders, and whether it's covered is up to your plan manager.
Do you offer bulk orders for schools or clinics? Yes. See our Bulk & Professional Orders page or email us at sales@squishlotte.com.au.
Where do you ship? Australia-wide, from Sydney, with Australia Post. Every parcel is tracked. Standard is $10.55, Express is $13.55, and one, two or three squishies cost the same to post. See our Shipping & Returns page for delivery times.
Can I return it? If it arrives damaged or develops a fault under normal use, absolutely — email us as soon as you notice, with a photo, and we'll replace it or refund you. Wear from heavy use isn't a fault (see our lifespan answer above). Because it's a sensory product that goes in hands and pockets, we can't accept change-of-mind returns once the bag is opened. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law always apply.
